Cover Girl Star Wars Collection will have you on Cloud (City) Nine

We love you Cover Girl. Cover Girl knows.

Cover Girl have just announced their new Star Wars Make Up Range- and it’s safe to say I need it all and will literally die if I don’t get the entire collection. I’m talking dead dead, with a capital D, light-sabered in half and thrown down a space-age elevator shaft.

Wheeeeee!
Wheeeeee!

The collection was announced via Cover Girl’s twitter and so far we’ve had a sneak glimpse at lipsticks, nail varnishes and mascaras that will be included in the range- and judging by the stunning campaign shots featuring make up looks designed by the wonderful Pat McGrath I’m expecting blushers, highlighters, bronzers and eye shadows to also be announced soon.

The collection is split between the Dark Side and the Light Side, with three looks for each- Nomad, Droid and Sage for the light side, and Apprentice, Storm Trooper and Chrome (YES Chrome Trooper from the trailer!!!) for the Dark Side.

So far we’ve caught glimpses of the ranges six lipsticks, three nail varnishes and a whopping TEN mascaras (the Light Side mascaras are waterproof, while the Dark Side ones aren’t), and by the looks of it create the look gift sets named Jedi and Empress- just when I thought nothing could possibly get me more excited about The Force Awakens this Christmas!

Each Mascara features iconic quotes from the exiting films- thanks Cover Girl for not accidentally spoiling anything!

There are quite a few press shots circulating for the C-3PO and Storm Trooper inspired looks, and we can see the other four in the shadows- perhaps these are too closely tied with new characters from the film and they can’t be shared until we get closer to the release (WHAT ARE YOU HIDING COVER GIRL!?) but I can already tell that I’m going to be obsessed with the Episode 1 Amidala-esque space Geisha look second from the right…

The launch is set for September 4th, ahead of Episode 7: The Force Awakens launch, and there’s already so much excitement, that you can pretty much guarantee that this limited edition collection will sell out faster than the Millennium Falcon can do the Kessel Run.

Unfortunately, if like me you live outside the U.S in a Galaxy Far, Far Away you’re going to have a lot of trouble finding somewhere to buy these without paying Jabba’s weight in gold in import charges- I’m looking for a U.K stockist and as soon as I find one I’ll post here, but if you can’t get your hands on a set fear not! I’ve found an albeit much less official Star Wars themed range from Freedom Make Up London.

Their Far Away Galaxy range consists of five lipsticks- Sky-Walker, The Sith, Stormtrooper, Space Luxe and Far Away. I’ve never tried any Freedom Make Up London products, but at a bargain price of only £1 each or better still you can pick up the full set for just £4!

Save a pound when you buy all 4? No excuse then really?

I’m definitely ordering these to try them! I will say the shades look much less wearable, but I’m in love with the metallic shades Space Luxe and Skywalker, and the gorgeous deep blues of The Sith and Far Away!
While I’m sad the packaging isn’t themed like the Cover Girl range the packaging is very sleek in design, and in my opinion far nicer than other bargain brands (I’m looking at you MUA!) so there’s no way you can complain! Keep posted for my swatches and review once they arrive!

Unless I hunt down a bounty or win a pod-race I’ll probably have to delve deep into my overdraft next month as I try to pick up the whole set (I can pay you 2,000 credits now Mr Banker, and another 15,000 when we reach Alderean, I’m good for it, I promise!) in hopes of making up for my tween trauma of never being able to afford the gorgeous YSL Star Wars One Love Padme Amidala box set that was launched with Episode 1- I’ve never been able to track one down to this day!

I must’ve been looking in Alderean places 😦
